Guidelines
There are three types of public events that we currently list on the Tap Legacy Calendar – Festivals, Intensives, and Jam Sessions. Below are the requirements for each event type to be listed. Please note that events that are not tap-dance-focused will not be reviewed for listing. Please review the guidelines below and fill out the form that follows to submit a listing.
Types of Events and Listing Guidelines
Event Type: Festivals
- Festivals are events that focus on bringing a multitude of experiences to a broad audience
- Event length must be a minimum of 3 days
- Event must include multiple types of activities such as classes, panel discussions, performances, jam sessions, etc.
Event Type: Intensives
- Intensives are events that are focused on education
- Event length must be a minimum of 2 days
- Must include multiple classes from either one or a variety of teachers
- May include other event types such as panel discussions and performances, but is not necessary
Event Type: Jam Sessions
- Jam Sessions are events in which the primary performers are tap dancers from the audience or otherwise in attendance
- Jam Sessions must have a designated host
- Must be primarily an open session (NOT a performance that has an open floor)
Event Type: Birthdays
- Birthday submissions will be accepted for tap dancers born before 1945.
- Submissions must include biographical information on the dancer (photo optional, but highly recommended).
- All submissions are subject to Tap Legacy’s ability to fact-check information and not guaranteed listing.
